Railroading in England

Mind The Gap!

The London Underground is a curious mix of tubes, open top tunnels, and plain open top. This station -- Sloan Square -- was "our" stop during our four-day visit. Note the power distribution rails. The "hot" rail carrying 750 volts DC is off to the side -- uncovered -- and the other side of the circuit is the Lionel-like center rail!
